Some advice from your hosts

What to do during your holiday in San Vigilio di Marebbe

When it comes to activities and opportunities, visitors to San Vigilio di Marebbe are spoilt for choice. That's why we are here to offer personalised advice to suit your tastes and needs. We can point you in the direction of the best local eateries, where you can soak up the views and enjoy some delicious Ladin dishes. From easy walks to more challenging excursions, we know the trails like the back of our hands. As for cultural outings, we recommend the Messner Mountain Museum at the top of the Kronplatz.

Furcia Center restaurant
This easy walk is ideal for families with children, offering spectacular views without any demanding elevation changes. It is also great practice for more ambitious routes. The hike along trail 1 from our agritourism accommodation takes a maximum of 30 minutes. Mountain biking is significantly faster. It is also used as a snowshoe trail in winter. Our family runs the restaurant, and will be happy to offer you a tasty breakfast or a typical Ladin lunch.
The Kronplatz
Climbing the Kronplatz is a must-do excursion for experienced hikers. Starting from the Sartù apartments makes you slightly closer to the summit than San Vigilio, and you can also take advantage of the ski lifts. Another itinerary that deserves a mention is the Concordia trail, a scenic circular route that ends on a panoramic platform dominated by the largest bell in the Alps. This symbol of peace contrasts with the natural surroundings, which also exude a sense of serenity.
The Roda de Rara
If you have any energy left after a long day of outdoor activities, we recommend this beautiful walk in the hamlet of Rara. Strolling among the traditional Ladin farms offers a fascinating glimpse of everyday life in rural South Tyrol. As the sun sets over the San Vigilio valley, you can let your mind wander far and wide!
An unmistakable silhouette
This rewarding excursion will take you to the top of one of the Marebbe valley's most iconic mountains. Reaching an altitude of 2507 metres, it offers remarkable views of the Val Badia and Kronplatz. Our apartments in Rara are the ideal starting point for this circular route, which takes you through a wide range of different scenery. Hikers should take care when walking on the rocks along the mountain ridge. A truly unforgettable experience!
Fojedöra
This moderate route, starting at our apartments, leads to the Fojedöra pasture. Once you have reached the Furkelpass via trail 1, take trails 3 and 3a across the north slope of Piz da Peres until you reach the Forcella di Cianross, then go down to the Fojedöra meadow basin, passing the beautiful Alpine lake of Fojedöra. Alternatively, trail 19 lets you access the Fojedöra lodge by bike or e-bike.
